Our Colleagues & Community
June was the celebration of Pride Month, CK support and stand in solidarity with all members of the LBGTQ+ Community this Pride Month (and every month before & after). Here at CK we pride ourselves on operating an inclusive culture for all of employees, regardless of their preferences.
We promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and although Pride Month is celebrated in June, we support the community 12 months of the year. Supporting Pride Month is more than just a social post, CK aim to put our support into actions to ensure our workplace is an inclusive environment for everyone. Love is Love, always!
June also saw Cervical Screening Awareness Week, CK joins Macmillan Cancer Support to answer frequently asked questions and break the stigma and fear around smear tests! 1 in 4 don’t attend their cervical screening test! A cervical smear test checks for abnormal cell changes in the cervix. Cervical cell changes are common, and often improve naturally. But sometimes these changes need treatment because there is a risk they may develop into cancer. A smear test is not a test for cancer, it is a test to help prevent cervical cancer all together, screening finds abnormal cell changes, including the ones that are most likely to become cancer. These cells can then be treated. This is an effective way of preventing cervical cancer.
Abnormal cell changes in the cervix cause no symptoms. You will not know if you have them unless you have cervical screening. If you have a cervix and you’re between the ages of 25 and 64, you should be offered a regular cervical smear test. If you have any concerns or questions about your smear test, contact your local GP or practice nurse. More info and how to book can be found here – https://lnkd.in/gFD-3uy.
We are excited to announce our newly formed CK United, our employee team who will be participating in a charity football tournament in July! The tournament will include several different corporate teams from around the local area as we all aim to raise some money for If U Care Share charity which works to support suicide bereavement and prevention. Stay tuned on our socials to see if CKFC takes the trophy!
Here’s too another successful month at CK, stay tuned for CK Rewind – July Edition! Thanks for reading 🙂
